style="color:inherit;"><div style="color:inherit;"><div style="color:inherit;"><div style="color:inherit;"><div style="color:inherit;"><div style="color:inherit;"><div>The performance implications of core density manifest across every dimension of SPC flooring behaviour that matters to the end user and they accumulate over time rather than being immediately obvious at installation.Understanding how density affects each performance dimension is the best preparation for making the specification decision correctly the first time.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;">Rigidity and Underfoot Feel</span></div><div>The most immediately perceptible consequence of core density is the rigidity and solidity of the installed floor underfoot.A high-density core produces a floor that feels genuinely solid firm, stable, and consistent across the full surface.A low-density core produces a floor that feels slightly hollow, that deflects very slightly under the weight of a standing person, and that produces a subtly different acoustic response when walked on a slightly more resonant sound that experienced installers and users associate with lower quality even when they cannot articulate the technical reason. This difference in underfoot character is not a minor aesthetic distinction it is the primary sensory quality that separates a premium-feeling floor from one that generates buyer complaints even when all other specification parameters appear correct.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;">Dimensional Stability Under Temperature Cycling</span></div><div>Core density directly determines how much the plank expands and contracts as ambient temperature changes.Limestone powder the primary component of a high-density SPC core has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. The higher the limestone content and the more densely it is packed in the core, the less the plank moves with temperature change.A high-density core at 1,900 kg/m³ typically demonstrates dimensional change below 0.05% at 80°C under ISO 23999 testing.A low-density core at 1,400 kg/m³ may show dimensional change of 0.12% or more under the same conditions more than double the movement, which produces visible gapping between planks in cold conditions and compressive joint stress in hot conditions, particularly in non-air-conditioned environments in tropical climates.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;">Locking System Performance and Joint Retention</span></div><div>The locking profile of an SPC plank is machined directly from the core material. The quality of the mechanical engagement that the locking system provides the tightness of the joint, the resistance to vertical separation, the longevity of the joint under repeated thermal movement depends entirely on the density and consistency of the core material into which the profile is machined.A high-density core provides dense, uniform material that holds the locking geometry precisely and maintains its dimensional tolerances under load and temperature change.A low-density core is more porous and variable the locking profile machined from it has less material integrity, produces a joint with marginally more play, and is more susceptible to dimensional change at the joint that produces gapping over time. This is why the same licensed locking system Unilin,Välinge,or I4F performs better from some manufacturers than others: the profile geometry is identical, but the density of the core it is machined from differs.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;">Indentation Resistance Under Sustained Load</span></div><div>Residual indentation the permanent dent left in a floor surface after a sustained point load is removed is directly related to core density. The residual indentation test (ISO 10582) measures how much permanent deformation remains in the surface after a defined load is applied for 24 hours and then removed for a recovery period.A high-density core provides structural resistance to this compression the dense limestone matrix distributes the point load across a larger area of core material and limits the depth of permanent deformation.A low-density core compresses more readily under the same load, producing a deeper initial indentation and a larger residual deformation after the load is removed. In a furnished space where dining tables, refrigerators, wardrobe legs, and office furniture apply sustained point loads over years the difference between a high-density and a low-density core becomes visible in the floor surface within the first twelve to eighteen months of use.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></blockquote></section></div></div></div>

or &quot;approximately 0.5mm&quot; without a supporting certificate.</div><div><span style="font-weight:bold;color:inherit;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-weight:bold;color:inherit;">Which locking system does the product use and is it licensed?</span></div><div>The locking system is the mechanical joint that connects SPC planks at their edges and ends.Licensed systems from Unilin (Uniclic/5G),Välinge,or I4F are engineered to precise tolerances and tested for joint integrity over years of thermal cycling the expansion and contraction that occurs as floor temperatures change with seasons.Proprietary unlicensed systems are produced without these standards and are one of the most common sources of joint failure complaints in installed SPC flooring.</div><br><div>Good answer: &quot; The product uses a Unilin Uniclic locking system. Here is our licence number.&quot;</div><div>Red flag answer: &quot; Our own locking system&quot; or &quot;patented click system&quot; without identifying the licensor.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;color:inherit;">What certifications does the product hold and can I see the original certificates?</span></div><div>Certification confirms that the product has been tested by an independent third-party laboratory and meets defined performance standards. The most important certifications for SPC flooring include FloorScore (indoor air quality critical for US and Australian markets),REACH compliance (chemical safety required for European markets),ISO 9001 (manufacturing quality management),and SGS or Bureau Veritas lab reports for specific performance parameters. In commercial applications, fire rating certification may also be a project requirement.</div><br><div>Good answer: Supplier provides original certificate documents not PDFs of PDFs with laboratory reference numbers that can be independently verified.</div><div>Red flag answer: &quot; We are certified&quot; without producing documents,or providing certificates that cannot be traced back to a verifiable laboratory report.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;color:inherit;">What is the total board thickness and core density?</span></div><div>Total board thickness (typically 4mm to 8mm) and core density (measured in kg per cubic metre) are two specifications that significantly affect how the floor feels underfoot, its acoustic performance, and its dimensional stability under load and temperature change.A thicker, denser board feels more solid, transmits less impact sound between floors, and is more resistant to denting under heavy furniture.Lightweight boards even at the same stated thickness indicate a lower-density core that compromises these performance characteristics.</div><br><div>Good answer: &quot;Total thickness is 6mm,core density is 1,850kg per cubic metre.&quot; Supplier provides technical data sheet confirming both figures.</div><div>Red flag answer: Supplier can confirm total thickness but is unable or unwilling to specify core density.</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-weight:bold;">What UV stability testing has been done and to what standard?</span></div><div>UV stability determines how well the SPC flooring maintains its colour when exposed to sunlight over time. This is particularly critical in markets with high UV exposure India, the Middle East,Southeast Asia, and Australia where direct sunlight through windows can degrade insufficiently stabilised flooring visibly within 12 to 24 months. The relevant test standard is ISO 4892-2 (accelerated UV weathering).Premium product is tested to a minimum of 2,500 hours.Budget product is often not tested to this standard at all.</div><div><br></div><div>Good answer: &quot; The product is tested to ISO 4892-2 at 2,500 hours with no significant colour change. Here is the test certificate.&quot;</div><div>Red flag answer: &quot;UV resistant&quot; claimed on packaging without a supporting test certificate from an accredited laboratory.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>

Will they accommodate an independent pre-shipment inspection? What documentation accompanies the shipment to confirm it matches the approved specification?</div><br><div>Good answer: &quot;Production lead time is 25 to 35 days.We conduct internal QC checks at each production stage and welcome pre shipment inspection by your appointed agency.Full test reports accompany every shipment.&quot;</div><div>Red flag answer: Vague lead time estimates, resistance to pre-shipment inspection,or inability to provide production stage QC documentation.</div><br><div><span style="font-weight:bold;color:inherit;">Can you provide references from buyers in similar markets or applications?</span></div><div>A supplier with a genuine track record of successful supply to buyers in markets or applications similar to yours will be able to provide verifiable references without hesitation.References from distributors in your target region, from project managers who have specified the product in similar commercial applications,or from importers who have been buying from this supplier for multiple years are the most reliable indicator of consistent quality and supply reliability available. No marketing material,no website, and no sample is a substitute for a real buyer who can speak to real experience.</div><br><div>Good answer: Supplier provides two or three verifiable contact references with names, companies, and contact details from buyers in comparable markets or applications.</div><div>Red flag answer: &quot; We supply major brands globally&quot; without providing specific, verifiable references on request.</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></blockquote></section></div></div></div>
